Butterfly valves are used in many items, such as HVAC ,water systems and fire systems. But Butterfly valves have many types of material and connections. So how do we choose the right center – line butterfly valve?

A.Center-line butterfly valve’s connections.
a)Flange connection: This is the most classic connection method. It is suitable for most working environments.
b)Wafer connection:This connection method is adopted when the installation space is limited or it is necessary to connect with other valves.
c)Lug connection:It is usually applied in marine systems to enhance stability.

We usually recommend the center-line butterfly valve with wafer connection type, which not only has a wide range of applications but also features low cost.

    B.Center-line butterfly valve’s material.
a)The material of the center – line butterfly valve body and valve disc is usually decided by the medium in the pipe.Ductile iron can be used for clean water applications, stainless steel for corrosive media, and WCB steel for high-temperature conditions.
b)Valve seat selection is of vital importance.EPDM/PTFE/RPTFE.They are applied in different environments.
c)The selection of other components is more flexible and can be adjusted according to the budget.

    C.Center-line butterfly valve’s operation type.
a)Manual operation type: Lever type is generally adopted for valves with a nominal diameter below DN150, while gear box is used for those above DN150.
    b)Electric operation type:380V or 220V
    c)Pneumatic operation type:Single-acting actuator or double-acting actuator
If you plan to purchase the actuator on your own, please ensure that the connection type complies with ISO 5211.
The most critical factor is the pipeline pressure. Due to the design and structure of center-line butterfly valves, they are typically suitable for operating conditions ≤ Class 150 / PN 16. If you require butterfly valves capable of withstanding higher pressure, please select double-offset or triple-offset butterfly valves.
