When the gate valves made by our company arrive at your warehouse, there are a few important things to remember.Following these tips can help make the valves last longer and reduce the cost of repairs and maintenance.

Before you start installing the valve, keep these points in mind:  

First, check that the gate valve matches your pipeline needs.

This includes making sure the size and pressure rating are right for your system.

Second, look inside the valve to make sure there is no dirt or debris.

If you find sand or other unwanted materials, clean them out by running water through the valve.

Lastly, you can install the gate valve in either direction because there’s no fixed way it has to be placed.

After you’ve installed the valve, do a quick test to make sure it works.

Stand facing the side of the valve that has the markings.

To open the valve, turn the handwheel counterclockwise.

To close it, turn the handwheel clockwise.

Be gentle when turning the handwheel and use steady, even pressure.

Friendly Reminder: Gate valves should be either fully open or fully closed.

They are not meant to be used for controlling the flow of fluid.

When turning the handwheel by hand, turn it at a rate of 1 to 2 revolutions per second.

For valves with a diameter of DN500 or larger, you should turn the handwheel more slowly.
